Little David

He's getting less and less little!

He just weighed/ measured in at about 50th percentile all round. He must be smaller then Lewis and Beau were at this stage because I can't stop eating him up! :-)

Zoo trip earned

Last weekend we took the boys to the Singapore zoo. They had worked for a month to get 50 smiles on their chart between the two of them. Smiles earned for brushing teeth, going potty, and getting in pjs on their own before the timer went off. Goal - personal responsibility, quicker bedtime routine, and fewer gray hairs for mom and dad due to minimal badgering. :-)

Mission accomplished!
The boys were SO happy to get to the zoo. And, turns out it's a fabulous zoo too with lots of areas where animals aren't so penned in, a great sea lion show, and a fabulous water area! :-)

Happy Birthday Lewis!

This is what 6 looks like!
We skipped school and went to the IMAX to celebrate!

Love this boy to bits!!!

Christmas Bubble Snow!!!

We had a totally fabulous evening yesterday! We grabbed dinner with some friends and then took all the kids to experience the Christmas "snow" in Singapore! One of the malls here has a nightly bubble snow fiesta! It was amazing! The kids had a blast! Video to follow!

Cutest quote from Beau!

Mike told Beau to be careful the other day when he was doing some climbing on the furniture in his room.

"But Daddy, we're always careful when we do naughty things!"

:-)
Love this boy!

Paternity leave date!

We got out today!!!

We had to take advantage of the older boys being at school and Mike being home this week to sneak in a lunch date! We walked over to a really cute, high end burger place close to home. A really fun outing, and a success for David who slept the whole way through!

Chocolate Faced!

It was a bit hard last week and into this week to get back into the swing of school. Both boys had changes in their classes, and Beau wasn't loving going from vacation and lots of family time back to saying goodbye to mom. I'm not above bribing with chocolate lava rolls!

A few fun shots!

Here are a few fun shots of our boys from the last few weeks...

I don't understand how kids can become so obsessed with something they've hardly had any exposure to! No movies, books, clips...nothing. But, they have superhero hand-me-down pjs. And their friends at school love superheroes. The pull is strong! The boys love them too!

They had their faces painted at a brunch we went to a few weeks ago.

No, this outfit is not at all appropriate for Singapord heat! He changed pretty quickly after we got to our destination. But, it had been raining when we left! And, he did look so cute!

The boys feasting on a watermelon drink together at the hawker centre!

Lewis dressed up as Paddington for his book week celebration at school. Too hot to wear his blue coat, so he opted for blue clothes. And, of course he carried a marmalade sandwich in his briefcase!

A capture from the school newsletter about me reading to Beau's class. Here I was reading Caps for Sale, but afterwards I did do our family Billy Goats Gruff with songs and actions. I've now read that to every preschool class each of the boys has been in! It's a Baba classic handed down!

This one just makes me laugh!
Everywhere we go, especially when we're traveling, people ask to take pictures with the boys. It's not the local Singaporeans. Normally Chinese or Indian tourists. Lewis thought he'd return the favor. There was an Indian wedding happening at our hotel in Bali, and Lewis really wanted pictures with these guests!

Love these cute boys!!!

Choir Photo

We had a photo shoot with our choir on Sunday to update the photo.
This is The Philharmonic Chamber Choir of Singapore. :-)
It's a group of about 30 singers, so not quite everyone was in attendance.
They just sent us one of the photos, and I thought I'd pass it along!

When we perform an Asian program (as we are this Sunday), the women wear Batik skirts and a red Indian silk top. My top was quickly made when we were in Thailand, which saved me bucket loads and let me find a more flexible silk that could work for a maternity top.

Now off to practice my contemporary Asian a capella music and try to perfect my Korean, Japanese, Mandarin, Tagalog, and other!

Beau's presentation - beanbag song

Beau's class presentation was today and it was precious! Beau did such a good job on both the English and Chinese songs!

While Lewis's teachers had put the tall kids in front (not sure why, but it worked out for me to have better video!), Beau's teachers had gone for the more traditional taller ones at the back set up. So, not quite as clear a view!

So proud of Beau and these little ones...that's quite the undertaking for 3 year olds!

Also, Beau's class is also split in two, like Lewis's, for most of the day. But, they had their presentation all together, whereas the groups performed separately for Lewis's age.

Lewis and his class perform the Singapore song

Lewis had his class presentation today. It was fabulous! 20 minutes of singing and dancing...they all did such an amazing job!

Here's their Singapore song, following on a mini-theme for National Day, which we just celebrated on Saturday.

It hit me during it...we've really moved our kids here and it's completely shaping their experiences, outlook, exposure, learning, etc., even after just 2 months. Crazy!

Beau and Charlotte

Beau had a play date with our neighbor, Charlotte, the other week. These are two peas in a pod. They both have a similar energy and friendliness and have lots of fun!

Charlotte was wearing her new Elsa costume and Beau really wanted to get in on the dress up action! Adorable!!!

Lewis singing the Mandarin bunny song!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HQMiKZk48yI

Yay! I've been having trouble figuring out how to upload videos from my new phone! Think I got it!

Here's our cute Lewis singing the bunny song in Mandarin. He loves it! And, his teachers have pulled me aside a couple times to tell me what a good job he's doing in his Chinese class! He loves the songs and copying the characters...and the idea that eventually he and Beau will be able to secretly speak to each other without mommy and daddy knowing what they're saying, just like mom and dad sometimes do in Spanish or French!

Scootering to school

Here are my cutie pies on their way to school. They ride their scooters down in the morning. It takes us about 25 min, and they love it!

Cutest boys!

These boys are the cutest!!!
I love these lovee pictures!

Here they are at the children's splash park at Gardens by the Bay early last week. And then showin' the love as we explore the gardens and see the supertrees!
