Lewis scarf dancing

This is, dare I say, amazing.

I'm always struck at how a day off school (even for stomach bug recovery!) brings out so much creativity in my kids!

I'm trying to influence for this to be the Wasden family talent show act this year, but he's not sure. So, if anyone else wants to pick this up as an act, we can supply the scarves! πŸ˜‰πŸ’ƒπŸΎπŸŽ‰

We're with her!

Back from voting by 7:10am!
I don't know if Lewis was more excited to choose Hilary or me!!!!

P.S. They didn't have stickers, but Lewis got a cookie.
P.P.S. Not meant to be a political discussion, but a family record!

Few more recents and haloweenee things!

Here's Lewis presenting his "lego community" he created with a group of classmates.

Then carving pumpkins with my boys!

And finally it wouldn't be a Halloween without Gogo working on some last minute sewing, stringing candy to add to our candy spy thief's costume. She's still that amazing!

We ends the night with Beau reading to Gogo before bed. SUCH an amazing little boy and reader!

Happy Halloween!

Lewis and Beau had a great Halloween parade and parties at school today! Here they are waving to everyone in their parade.

Then, the whole crew dressed up for trick or treating! We have a "candy spy thief" stealing from Mike's candy store, a darling cowboy, and a very cute cow who only wore his costume after three lollipop bribes and lots of tears and screams. And, the headpiece wasn't happening! But boy did he run all over the neighborhood and figure that trick or treating thing out quickly! Even with a "Dee-do" (translation - thank you) after each candy acquisition!

Trunk or treat ready!

Our ward had our trunk or treat tonight. Here's our cutest cowboy, a boy after his Papa John's heart. (Thank you for the boots and shirt, Papa!) And a candy spy thief, inspired by stories of Megan as a sock thief. And Singapore specials from mom and dad. David...didn't want to wear his cow costume. But, we're pretty sure we'll get him in it for the main event.

Unpacking has its perks!!!

Now what to do with these mountains of paper after the cave games and mountain climbing games and bubble bath games are done?!?!?

Sweet, helpful, creative Lewis!

I asked Lewis to help me clean up and set the table for the missionaries coming over tonight. He was so helpful! I asked him to fold the napkins and said he could do it however he wanted.

This is what he came up with! Cute boy! They had to unfold it to see the secret message inside!

Beau's off and away!!!

This amazing kiddo decided yesterday that he could do it - no training wheels! Just like that, he was off! So proud of his hard work and resilience in working at a hard thing!

An American Day!

We had a super day!
I braved Target in order to buy bikes for the boys. (Do love Target, but wasn't looking forward to being overwhelmed by the ridiculous number of items and choices!!!)

Lewis just learned to ride a bike!!!

It took him all of about 5 minutes!!!
Watch the whole thing for a bit of a funny ending!

Last Sunday in SG

We had such a nice Sunday morning walk through the civic district and caught a race happening there.

My concert hall!

The Merlion of as unfortunately under construction. This was the first thing we did in Singapore with the kids. After waking up in the same hotel we stayed in as we were leaving SG, The Fairmont, we had their superb breakfast and then walked over to the Merlion. So cool to do it again on our last morning!

Throngs of Chinese tourists wanting to take pictures with our kids. Par for the course!

Esplanade in the background - my other concert hall!

Classic. Had to be done!

Last meal at Din Tai Fung. Oh how we'll miss these dumplings and lemongrass juice. (Please open a Din Tai Fung, NYC!!!)

Our favourite beetroot burger from Cedele!

Goodbye Singapore!

Our good friend Jairo came to say goodbye to us at the airport. He is the ambassador to SG from Costa Rica, so he had clearance to come with us through immigration all the way to the gate! So cool!

Last Saturday in SG

We spent our last couple days staying downtown.

I took the boys to a fabulous children's exhibit at the Singapore Art Museum.

And then lunch at Chijmes!

We opted for Japanese Teppanyaki, which the boys thought was so cool!

Mike and i had one last date night to The Study, a super little restaurant where we had gone for our very first Singapore date night!

Getting ready to leave

Packing up!

Last dinner at our neighborhood hawker centre. Chicken rice and satay and bee hoon and lime juice all round!

Kopi- classic Singaporean coffee made with sweetened condensed milk. This is the classic Singaporean way to get your drink take away!

The night after our handover of our condo, we had dinner with my neighbor and friend Karen and family. Then Mike took the boys to search for scorpions in MacRitchie with black light flashlights (so cool!). I took David back to our friend's condo where we were staying. As I passed by the Botanic Gardens going to the MRT, I was filled with pangs of longing and sadness. I had to go in and walk around one last time. So many wonderful memories of walking home in the evening after concerts through those gardens! We'll miss that so much!
