Evening Concert in the Botanic Gardens

We walked through the botanic gardens tonight (walkable from our place - we love that!!!) to see this piano concert. Fabulous!

The kids spotted tons of turtles, bats, a frog, fish, and two monitor lizards in the lake. (They're as big as caiman... small crocs) We're in the tropics!

Pretty excited about undies!

We're potty training over here, and the reasons are threefold:
- Might as well go for it when we have
no rugs and temporary furniture.
- These kiddos need to start school soon, and Beau needs to be trained.
- After 13 monumental tantrums and melt downs on Tuesday, I figured the day wasn't redeemable anyway. Might as well add potty training! ;-)

Beau's been doing great. He's super excited to run over to the potty as often as possible and then collect his chocolate smartie as a reward! He just put on underwear...it's been all cute, bare buns for the last couple days!

School dance party

Beau LOVES dancing. His class had a little dance party that I caught through the one way window. After the music was turned off, Beau and his friend Ryan kept at it on their own!

Bowling

A few weeks ago, we were desperately searching for an appropriate Saturday activity for 5 degree weather. Desperately because it was about the 20th time we had found ourselves in this situation, and our go to options were no longer appealing!

We found a coupon for bowling and food at the local bowling alley and headed off to introduce the boys to bowling. (Lewis had gone once before when we had Rachel with us for the week, but he didn't remember it!)

Everything about it was totally funny and so cute! I think my favorite part was during our second game. The boys were happily eating their chicken fingers and fries. Whenever they saw their name come up on the screen (and they both could recognize their name up there!), they'd excitedly pop up, take care of business all on their own, and come on back. They were so pleased with themselves! :-)

It was a success! No holes in the floor - miracle. Definite love of bowling shoes established. A successful introduction to a favorite American pastime!

(I hope these all work...they seem to be giving me trouble sometimes today!)

Tap Dancer - 12 Days

Beau is super into tap dancing!
Between the Rockettes and the tap show we saw the other weekend....and the fact that Lewis' old shoes and costume fit him...he's in business!

I think he actually has a nice flick of the ankle! :-) And great pizzaz, for sure!

By the way, he prefers not to wear pants with that outfit, "because dancers don't wear pants!"

And, P.S. If the hair surprises you, we may not have had a chance to tell everyone that Lewis cut Beau's hair a week or two ago. The buzz was necessary to rectify!
