Just had to capture this, because it's one of my favorite things of the week here.
Every Tuesday morning I visit the wet market. It's a 20 min walk from our place. Market for fruit, vegg, fish, meat, and some other Chinese cooking goodies. It's by far my favorite way to shop. A bit smelly, always slightly chaotic. The shopkeepers I go to are so nice and helpful. They let me know what fruit is in season and is really sweet, and they always try to interest me in $12 raspberries.
This photo was after Chinese New Year, and my chicken man had an ang bao for David (envelope with 2 $2 bills, because everything is given in pairs for CNY, for prosperity).

And, I know...the head cock to the side...so cute, and totally picked up from me!

For your viewing pleasure
First, a cute video of David doing his own peekaboo!
Then, videos from our Family Home Evening last night. Lewis had the brilliant idea that we should all write our own church song for the activity. We think these are keepers. Pure inspiration, right here!

Big morning!
It was a big morning in the Wasden home today! Beau's birthday!!!
He woke up and started singing happy birthday to himself :-) Then he asked me, with great expectation, if I love him even more today! He told me that he knew I loved him no matter what, even if he makes bad choices. (Yes! Lesson on unconditional love internalized!) And, he told us that he's in charge of everything today, and he gets to say if someone has to stay in timeout today or not!!! ;-)
This cute little five year old could not be more excited to celebrate, have breakfast in bed, cupcakes at school, a treat outing just with mommy after school, a dinner of his favorites, and a solar system cake tonight!
We started the day with the sweetest present from Lewis. About two weeks ago, he formulated a plan to make a dog costume for Beau. Beau loves costumes! He wrote out the step by step plan while in South Africa. Then he locked himself in his room and created a dog mask and a tail that goes on a cardboard belt that snaps on and off. And, he wrapped it up and has been ready with his gift since last weekend. Amazing!
(I, on the other hand, shopped yesterday and still need to wrap and decorate the solar system cake!)
Lewis had his class assembly this morning in which the class taught the primary school about the great fire of London. He was so poised and proud! :-)
Then I got to join Beau's class for snack time and give out cupcakes that Daddy decorated as monkeys. So fun and exciting!
Love our birthday boy and his very thoughtful brothers!
